Transportation is often a barrier for Coachella Valley residents seeking education, which is why SunLine Transit Agency developed the Haul Pass program. This program provides free transportation to and from school as well as anywhere students need to go using public transit while enrolled in qualified college and high school institutions in the region.
High School Haul Pass
SunLine provides access to fare free local rides to Coachella Valley high school students in grades 9 -12 through the Agency’s Haul Pass program. To apply for the Haul Pass program, you will be required to complete a Haul Pass Application form, as well as upload your valid 2022-2023 high school ID. Students who were previous riders in the 2021-2022 school year or are new to the program will need to take action. If you wish to participate or continue utilizing the Haul Pass program, please select ONE of the following options below:
For all options listed below, please be ready to upload your valid 2022 - 2023 high school ID.
Option 1: Click on the link below if you have NEVER submitted an application and are NEW to the Haul Pass program.
Option 2: Click on the link below to upload your new 2022 – 2023 high school ID, if you are a returning student who wishes to RENEW and have NO CHANGES.

- Mailing address
- Phone number
- Attending a new high school
- Access to fare using either paper pass or a smartphone

Please submit ONE application per student and allow 7 – 14 business days to process each application. Once your application is processed, you will get a notice with step-by-step instructions on how to access your fare using a smartphone. If you do not have a smartphone, you can still participate in the program by selecting the “Do not have a smartphone, need a paper ticket” option on the Haul Pass Application.
